Summer is also the best time to visit the city as there are numerous festivals and events held at that part of the year, which include the famous summer beach Olympics. There are plenty of fine luxury hotels near Ocean City MD to choose from catering to all types of budgets.

One of the best places to stay in the area is the MD Grand Hotel that offers the best in comforts and luxury, and competitively priced. All of the top attractions are in close proximity and it is the ideal location to stay on a trip to the area. Most people who visit Ocean City come for its fabulous beaches, entertainment and summer festivities. However, for those who are fond of reading and keen to visit the best public libraries in town two of the best places are:

Ocean City Library:

At the time of the establishment of the Ocean City library in 1921, it was only among the select few 29 public libraries in the Maryland area.  There is no definite information about its precise location, although some old timers seem to think that its location was in the present City Hall building that served as Ocean City High School in that period. Later in 1959, the library became part of Worcester County library. As per records the funding took place in 1967, for the new building on 14th Street. Construction took place in the interim of 1967-1968 and it opened to the public in 1968. In March 2008, its new location was on 100th Street with a new library built and the old building demolished.

Ocean City Art League:

The newly constructed Ocean City Art League at Bayside, is spread over a spacious gallery of two storeys, with classrooms, an art library, a pottery studio and 5 artist studios. The galleries host exhibitions of local and regional artists on a monthly basis. The exhibits open to the public on First Fridays of every month from 5-7 pm. The gallery hosts a variety of activities and events along with workshops for budding artists of all levels. There is its popular summer arts program with events like Sand Castle Home Tour and the Plein Air Painting event. There are magnificent views of the bay from the gallery. It is one of the best art libraries in town and visitors can catch up with all the latest happenings in Ocean City at the venue.
